Many roads lead from Vienna airport to the Villa Vita Pannonia. Climb aboard the Setra ComfortClass 500 and experience the trip through Lower Austria and the Burgenland in a totally new dimension. Two years after the successful market launch of the ComfortClass 500, the Setra brand is doubling up the range with four new models. New lengths and a new height mean fresh perspectives for coach companies throughout Europe and scope for flexible adaptation to changing challenges in touring and long-distance regular services.

We proudly present: the S 511 HD compact club coach for outings with small groups, Setra's longest touring coach, the S 519 HD, and the new middle-deckers - the S 515 MD and S 516 MD. They are ready for boarding now.

The Setra ComfortClass 500 is kind on the environment. This is thanks, among other things, to a proven reduction in fuel consumption of up to eight percent compared with the previous 400 model series complying with Euro V, for example.

With a total of eight models, this trailblazing generation of vehicles is now complete. The basis for the diverse range of models is provided by the established modular system, from which development engineers are able to derive different lengths and heights. Vehicle concepts tailored to our customer's business models can thus be configured from this system comprising substructure, length and body modules.

S 511 HD - the new small coach for big adventures

What would a current Setra product portfolio be without an exclusively appointed club coach? The ComfortClass 500 will continue to offer coach companies such a model in future.The most compact model of the series is now waiting to welcome its guests on board in the guise of the S 511 HD measuring just 10,465 mm in length. Whether as a luxurious VIP shuttle or for exclusive club trips - smaller tour groups are particularly happy to undertake extensive trips on this agile coach - the successor to the S 411 HD of the TopClass 400, which enjoyed great popularity throughout Europe.

Thanks to its wheelbase of 5005 mm, the new member of the ComfortClass 500 has a turning circle of just 17,468 mm. It manoeuvres with effortless grace along winding mountain passes or narrow and congested inner-city roads. The coach has an approach angle of 6.0 degrees and a departure angle of 7.2 degrees. The rear and front segments of the S 511 HD have been shortened by 120 mm and 625 mm respectively compared with the S 515 HD. The S 511 HD does not go short on safety, however. The Front Collision Guard features as basic.

The high-decker lends itself to variable scopes of equipment, and with its compact dimensions it is predestined for the installation of variable kitchen modules or an exclusive club area in the rear - ideal for club outings or business meetings. The S 511 HD is also available with a rear entrance.

The passenger compartment offers the customary high level which is a hallmark of the ComfortClass 500. This includes headroom of 2100 mm, the pleasant feeling of spaciousness, the diverse seating variants, the large luggage compartments and the maintenance-free LED interior lighting. The luggage compartment capacity varies according to the position of door 2. With a centre entrance, coach operators have 5.3 m3 of luggage space at their disposal with a toilet, or 6.5 m3 without a WC module. With a rear entrance, the luggage compartment capacity stands at 7.5 m3.

With 3-star classification the S 511 HD is able to accommodate a total of 41 passengers, while the 5-star variant offers space for 32 passengers. When the vehicle is provided with a rear entrance, the number of seats in the 3-star variant is 38.

The club coach is powered by an OM 470 of the Mercedes-Benz Euro VI "Blue Efficiency Power" engine generation with an output of 290 kW (394 hp). A fully automated GO 250-8 PowerShift eight-speed manual transmission is optionally available for the S 511 HD.

S 519 HD - going the whole length for long distances

Two years after its launch, the ComfortClass 500 has gone to even greater lengths with the S 519 HD - the Setra brand's longest touring coach. The 14,945 mm-long three-axle coach represents the top end of the portfolio. As the vehicle with the highest seating capacity among single-deckers, this is the best touring coach for cross-border long-distance routes. It is able to accommodate up to 71 passengers on touring seats with Setra Voyage Plus and Setra Voyage Supreme upholstery, indulging them with all the established merits of the Setra ComfortClass 500. The new operator on international long-distance routes also boasts plenty of space for bags and suitcases. The luggage compartment volume - without WC module and driver rest area - stands at 12.4 m3. In addition to the stowage space between the axles, the S 519 HD offers additional compartments - in some instances as optional extras - above the axles and behind the trailing axle.

Setra's longest coach is powered by the OM 470 six-cylinder in-line engine or optionally by the OM 471. The optional powertrain delivers 350 kW (476 hp) and peak torque of 2300 Nm - the most powerful engine of the Setra ComfortClass 500.

S 515 MD and S 516 MD - middle-deckers offering a high standard of comfort

The Setra ComfortClass 500 is variable not only in terms of length, but also when it comes to the height of the vehicles. In addition to attractive high-deck coaches, the innovative model series now also includes two middle-deckers bearing the designation "MD".

The two new fully fledged touring coaches feature all the merits of the economical ComfortClass. The 12,295 mm long S 515 MD and the S 516 MD measuring 13,115 mm in length - products of the modular system - provide an economical and flexible point of entry into the individual travel world of the Setra ComfortClass 500.

The previously uncommon vehicle dimensions extend the scope of applications: from economical vehicles par excellence with small engines and efficient basic configurations in the areas of the cockpit and seating to high-quality shuttle coaches of the Setra ComfortClass 500 which accommodate virtually all types of equipment and fittings. We are convinced that Setra has the right model for every type of use.

At a height of 3560 mm, the new middle-deckers in no way stand in the shadow of their bigger "brothers". They fit harmoniously into the existing product family, yet possess their own distinctive character.

In shuttle service, in combined transport operations or on short weekend trips. On trips when passengers have less luggage, these are the new alternative for all coach operators who are keen to retain the familiar Setra comfort features. The vehicles of the MD class harmoniously combine a wealth of appointments with a lower floor assembly.

Flexible seating variants with centre and rear entrance

The entrances on the S 515 MD and S 516 MD are as generously dimensioned as on all vehicles of the Setra ComfortClass 500. The single-tone cockpit is integrated for shuttle and regular-service use, featuring a multifunction steering wheel, the proven Stacks & Cards operating concept, the "Bosch Classic Line" stereo CD audio system and additional stowage facilities within the driver's reach. The HVAC control unit also permits separate climate control settings for the driver's workplace and the passenger compartment with this cockpit variant. Drivers, tour guides and passengers have long come to appreciate this system, and can now enjoy its benefits on board the MD vehicles, too. Alternatively, for exclusive touring use coach operators can choose an entrance area with decorative features and folding footrests on the tour guide's seat in conjunction with the cockpit which comes as standard on the HD coaches.

The MD coaches also retain the customary headroom of 2100 mm -even the tallest passengers have all the headroom they need. The passenger compartment offers the tried and tested setting with high-quality surface finishes and fabric-covered ceilings.

Curved luggage racks and air ducts leading upwards at the sides afford a clear view outside. The entrance and aisle lighting consists of LED lights as standard.

With diverse seating variants and the option of a rear door, the S 515 MD and S 516 MD are flexible touring coaches which make their mark as economical all-rounders. The installation of a level floor and luxurious 2+1 seating is another conceivable option. The capacities for the S 515 MD with centre entrance range from 40 passenger seats on board the Setra Route model in its 5-star variant to 49 seats with 3-star classification and from 40 to 48 seats with a rear entrance.

On the S 516 MD the figures rise accordingly from 44 to 53 seats and in the case of a rear entrance from 44 to 50. The luggage compartment capacity with centre entrance stands at 6.1 m3 (including toilet) on the S 515 MD and 7.8 m3 on the S 516 MD.When the two vehicles are fitted with a rear door, the luggage compartment capacity increases on the S 515 MD (incl. toilet) to 8.0 m3 and on the S 516 MD to 9.7 m3.

Different heights, same class

The two new touring coaches are also in top form when it comes to aerodynamics. All the flow-optimised features which make the Setra ComfortClass 500 a fuel-efficient model series are also integrated in the MD class.

Rear trim panel, rear side panels and engine compartment flap are identical to on the high-deckers; the windscreen is correspondingly lower and has a more pronounced curve.

Both models are powered as standard by the OM 936. The 7.7 l six-cylinder in-line engine with an output of 260 kW (354 hp) comes into its own in conjunction with the GO 190 manual transmission, combining the necessary power with environment-friendly drive technology.

The two vehicles of the ComfortClass 500 are also optionally available with the OM 470 in the output ratings 265 kW (360 hp) and 290 kW (394 hp). In this case, the GO 210 and the GO 250-8 PowerShift are available as transmission variants.
