Stuttgart - Following in the footsteps of its predecessor models, the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been voted Japan's best import car. With this achievement the mid-range series saloon continues an impressive winning tradition.

The four predecessor generations of the C-Class already held the title of "Import Car of the Year Japan". For 2014-2015, the jury composed primarily of Japanese motoring journalists decided in favour of the C-Class that celebrated its world début last year. The jury based its choice in particular on the fact that the C-Class has realised quantum leaps in technology and has made sophisticated radar-based safety technology available, for example. The jury noted: "The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a masterpiece that underscores the manufacturer's commitment to offer its customers the best possible car."
