Daimler AG (DAI.XE) Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche plans a savings program amounting to EUR1 billion for its Mercedes Benz business, German daily Financial Times Deutschland reported Friday, citing unnamed people close to the company. The newspaper said a company spokesman declined to comment on "speculation."
Daimler Thursday lowered the full-year earnings outlook for its core Mercedes-Benz cars division, indicating demand for luxury cars is slowing amid a softening global economy.
