WASHINGTON, Dec. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Danaher Corporation (NYSE: DHR) announced today that effective January 1, 2017, Rainer Blair has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Danaher Corporation, with responsibility for the Company's $5 billion Life Sciences platform.

Mr. Blair, 52 years old, has served in a series of progressively more responsible general management roles since joining Danaher in 2010, and is currently the President of Pall Corporation and a Danaher Vice President - Group Executive. Previously, Mr. Blair served as Group Executive - Life Sciences platform from 2014 to 2015, President of SCIEX from 2011 to 2014 and President of Videojet North America & Europe from 2010 to 2011. Prior to joining Danaher, Mr. Blair served as President and CEO for MAPEI Americas and also spent 15 years with BASF Group in roles of increasing responsibility. In his new role, Mr. Blair will report directly to Thomas P. Joyce Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer.
