Proven Polymer Integration:De La Rue has launched the latest Safeguard® development of holographic foil in the clear window of its polymer substrate at the Banknote Conference in Washington this week.

Following the very successful introduction of De La Rue's Safeguard® polymer less than 4 years ago, further levels of security are now available with the incorporation of holographic foils.

The stunning new Barn Owl house note has been designed to showcase the best of both Safeguard and holographic design. Using Advanced Image Plane (formerly Classical) holography, the Depth™ Image hologram on the house note illustrates all the clarity, colour, movement and true depth achievable on a polymer substrate. The foil placed in the curved window delivers a highly aesthetic design that is clearly visible from both sides of the note.

Unique to De La Rue is the ability to integrate the different elements into the overall banknote design - from gravure to foil to print. When developing the new Owl house note,
De La Rue's substrate, holographic and print teams worked collectively to ensure harmonious integration of all the features into the overall note design. We believe that the result is a truly beautiful, highly secure and complex design.
