Deere & Co. Assigned Patent for Adjustable Knockdown Rollers
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 3 -- Deere and Co., Moline, Illinois, has been assigned a patent (9,857,785) developed by Eric P. Richard, Thibodaux, Louisiana, for "adjustable knockdown rollers for sugarcane harvester." The abstract states: "A method and control system are disclosed for adjusting orientations of knockdown rollers for sugarcane harvesters. An upper knockdown roller may be moved along a first adjustment path using a first actuator. A lower knockdown roller may be moved along a second adjustment path using a second actuator. A substantially tangential alignment may be maintained for an outer diameter of the upper knockdown roller and an outer diameter of the lower knockdown roller with respect to a reference point along a cutting path of the base cutter assembly, during or after movement of the upper and lower knockdown rollers."

Praxair Technology Assigned Patent for System for Optimizing Acetylene Delivery
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 3 -- Praxair Technology, Danbury, Connecticut, has been assigned a patent (9,857,804) developed by three co-inventors for a "method and system for optimizing acetylene delivery." The co-inventors are Wendell W. Isom, Grand Island, New York, Carl J. Cantrelle Jr., Ama, Louisiana, and Razzack Syed, Mississauga, Canada. The abstract states: "This invention relates to a method and system for increasing the utilization of the supply of acetylene from two acetylene sources. The flow is provided at a substantially constant delivery pressure to a point of use, such as a customer point of use. A portable apparatus is configured to operably connect to each of the two acetylene sources simultaneously and during operation automatically provide flow from one of the acetylene sources through various valving and piping assembled onto the portable apparatus followed by supply to a customer point of use."
