Gerard van Rooijen (43) will be appointed Managing Director of Delta Lloyd Life with effect from 15 May. His responsibilities in this role will include ultimate responsibility for Delta Lloyd Life's pension and life insurance products. Gerard will succeed Leon van Riet, who took up his duties as a member of the Executive Board of Delta Lloyd on 1 March 2016. Leon will be formally appointed to the Executive Board after the General Meeting of Shareholders on 19 May 2016.

Gerard joined Delta Lloyd in 1996. During his tenure, he has gained broad experience in a variety of management and executive positions, including Group Planning & Control Manager, Director of Income & Absenteeism and Director of Individual Life Insurance.

Further information on who will take over from Gerard as Director of Income & Absenteeism will follow. Until a successor has been appointed, his duties will be fulfilled by the members of
the General Insurance MT.
