Demandware unveils new product capabilities that will enable retailers to deliver a unified commerce experience

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr. 15, 2015-- Demandware® Inc. (NYSE: DWRE), the industry-leading provider of enterprise cloud commerce solutions, today announced new capabilities that advance its mission to empower retailers to provide consumers with a unified commerce experience. The announcement was made at the company's annual Demandware XChange Conference in Las Vegas.

Unified commerce requires the convergence of discrete systems -- traditional point-of-sale, call center, e-commerce and mobile technologies - to reduce complexity and enable seamless consumer engagement. According to a January 2015study led by the National Retail Federation, 53% of retail executives plan to implement a unified commerce platform within five years and 86% plan to do so over the next 10 years, making it the emerging standard as the technology matures.

Demandware is addressing the need for unified commerce through continued investment in its One Platform strategy. The following comprehensive capabilities, delivered through the Demandware Commerce Cloud, further extend the commerce platform leader's offering across channels and into the store:

  • Store Center - a new enterprise cloud point-of-sale (POS) solution based on Tomax technology, which Demandware acquired in January of 2015. Store Center includes fixed, virtual and mobile POS capabilities that empower store associates to serve consumers on the sales floor, personalize in-store experiences, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Order Center - a comprehensive distributed order management solution that enables buy-anywhere, fulfill-anywhere experiences. Enhancements include stronger integration with the platform to enable a shared view of price, promotion and other information; and simplified integration and customization options. Order Center is also now localized and available for the European market.
  • Predictive Merchandising - a new site personalization solution built on intellectual property obtained through the acquisition of CQuotient. Predictive Merchandising uses leading-edge data science and predictive intelligence to deliver product recommendations that personalize site experiences, maximizing conversion rates and order value while strengthening the relationship between the customer and the brand.
  • Predictive Email - an email personalization solution, based on CQuotient technology. Predictive Email harnesses data from all customer touch points and creates a predictive portrait for each individual. Retailers are able to tailor the content of email messages with the optimal choice of product, promotion or content to make them as relevant as possible and encourage repeat shopping visits.

"Retailers are struggling with siloed systems that each address one specific problem for one specific channel," said Jeff Barnett, chief operating officer of Demandware. "They want a unified commerce platform that eliminates the siloes and enables a true omni-channel experience."

"Demandware will continue to invest in technology that empowers retailers to engage customers in new ways, online and in-store. With our new solutions, retailers have choices. They can move at their own speed, implementing the pieces that are important to them now and go from there," continued Barnett.
