Powered by the Demandware Commerce platform, the solution enables store associates to easily access comprehensive customer, product and inventory data on the sales floor and take orders using a tablet, to provide customers with a more personalized experience and prevent lost sales caused by stock outs.

SOLSTICE SUNGLASSES, the leading sunglass retailer in the U.S., has been a Demandware client since 2010. The retailer operates more than 135 stores and offers the largest selection of luxury, designer and sport performance sunglasses than any other retailer or sunglass specialty store in the United States.

SOLSTICE initially piloted the Demandware Digital Store solution in the fall of 2013. After a successful deployment in two stores in New York City, the retailer expanded its use to two additional New York-area stores, as well as stores in Palo Alto and Miami. SOLSTICE now plans to deploy the solution in all of its stores across the U.S.

With Demandware’s Digital Store solution, SOLSTICE store associates can now access web inventory and have products shipped directly to customers. By easily accessing inventory not carried in the store, store associates can help customer conversion and increase in-store revenue, while decreasing inefficiencies in stock holding, allocation and shipping.

Store associates can also leverage clienteling and guided selling features to provide customers with a more personalized shopping experience. They can use the tablet app to quickly look up a customer’s profile, view their purchasing behavior and past purchases, and make recommendations based on buyer preferences. Associates can also use the app to find additional styles and colors and honor web-based promotions and coupon codes. The Digital Store solution leverages existing back-end integrations, payment methods and robust omni-channel functionality available through the Demandware Commerce platform.
