Deutsche Bank announced today the appointment of Ahmer Hasan as Chief Country Officer for Deutsche Bank in Pakistan. He is taking over responsibility from Faizan Mitha, who will be moving to the Gulf region in a new role to assist the bank on regional business development initiatives. In his new role Ahmer will report into Ashok Aram, Deutsche Bank's CEO for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Ashok Aram, Chief Executive Officer MENA said: "Ahmer brings an extensive international capital markets experience combined with a deep understanding of the Deutsche Bank Group to his new role. We are confident that Ahmer's diverse experience will enable him to further develop Deutsche Bank's franchise in Pakistan in a focused manner and connect it deeper with our international network for the benefit of our clients. He will also be responsible for maintaining strong corporate governance and regulatory compliance. I also want to thank Faizan Mitha for managing the bank's development in Pakistan since 2011 during a challenging macro-economic period and, along with key senior colleagues in the country, maintaining a profitable and sustainable operation."
