Jürgen Gerdes (53), Member of the Management Board responsible for Corporate Incubations at Deutsche Post DHL Group will resign his mandate today.

The Group and Jürgen Gerdes have agreed on an early termination of his board membership by mutual consent and on the best of terms amid diverging views on the future strategic focus of the company. Gerdes steps down from his mandate as of today and will leave the company by June 30, 2018.

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post DHL Group expressed its gratitude to Jürgen Gerdes for more than 30 years of successful work for the company.

'Jürgen Gerdes led the division Post - eCommerce - Parcel for more than a decade very successfully. He has driven customer-oriented innovation and the internationalization of the business and thus made significant contributions to the strong economic performance of the Group for many years. Recently he made first decisive steps in Corporate Incubations to set course for the future of the Group in the area of digital solutions, e-mobility and automation', said Nikolaus von Bomhard, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post DHL Group.

The board mandate for Corporate Incubations will be taken over by Thomas Ogilvie, Member of the Board for Personnel and Labour Director. Before joining the Corporate Board Ogilvie was Executive Vice President Corporate Development and in charge of the Group strategy. He is very familiar with the projects driven forward by Corporate Incubations.
