• T-Systems uses the partner technology of Akamai
  • Fast delivery of data such as video content, even to mobile devices

Trumpf wanted to get more performance out of its web presence and its MyTrumpf customer portal - in particular when called from mobile devices - without having to make further investment in infrastructure. That is why the experts from T-Systems developed and implemented a solution based on Akamai technology. The technology provided by this specialist in content delivery services ensures that content is always sent to Internet users from whatever server happens to be most suitable in their circumstances. This provides major performance benefits, particularly when downloading such data-intensive content as video or high-resolution photos.

'What we planned was a complete relaunch of our global website including the MyTrumpf customer portal,' explains Jürgen Küchle, IT project manager at Trumpf. 'Our content delivery using Akamai technology is now running like clockwork: the website performance is substantially better than before.'

Akamai forms part of T-Systems' partner ecosystem, which the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary uses to provide its customers with support in the digitization process. Up to 30 percent of all daily web traffic is currently delivered by more than 230,000 Akamai servers, which are spread over 130 countries in more than 1,600 networks. The solution can both be operated through the customer's in-house data center and obtained from the Open Telekom Cloud.T-Systems will also be demonstrating the solution in detail at Hannover Messe.
