Carrington College and Carrington College California, part of the DeVry family of schools, will host an open house on Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. to explore a variety of careers, including multiple health care fields. Students and faculty will be on site to provide in-depth tours of interactive classrooms and explain the career potential of programs, which include medical assisting, dental assisting, medical billing and coding, pharmacy technology and more. Attendees can also meet with enrollment service representatives to discuss career opportunities and learn more about financing higher education with the student finance department.

"We know that each student offers a unique set of skills, dreams and talents, so we set up the open house to ensure that everyone receives the attention and direction needed to choose the right career path," said Robert Paul, president of Carrington Colleges Group. "The connection between education and a career is clear, which is why our campuses focus on programs that enable growth as a student and professional. The open house is the perfect place for students to determine which program fits their personality and goals."

Interested students will also be given the opportunity to "Crash a Class," where they will sit in on a class of their choosing in order to better understand their potential career path.

As Carrington continues to emerge as a leader in health care education, students attending the open house should consider that the Bureau of Labor Statistics points to an optimistic future for health practitioners and technical occupations. For example, employment for both medical assistants and dental assistants is expected to grow by 31 percent from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations.
