Public beta launched on schedule, with remittances now being sent from the U.S. to Dominican Republic via the AirPocket app
Launch follows successful completion of third party second phase security testing, which demonstrated a highly secure and robust infrastructure
First phase Beta launch initially commences with a test sample of at least 50 people and expanding to a larger number of users in the coming quarter
Objective of the launch is to review the user experience, ease of use and effectiveness of internal business processes
Further App optimisation post analysis and review of initial sample before commencement of second phase public beta in Q4 2015 to a significantly larger number of users
Launch represents a key milestone for the Company as the AirPocket application goes live in a public environment for the first time
Digital payments company Digital CC Limited (ASX:DCC and 'the Company') is pleased to announce it has launched its innovative fintech product AirPocket in a public beta phase.
This is the first time that the AirPocket application is available in a public environment. The initial application phase will be used by at least 50 users in the U.S. and Dominican Republic to remit cash through the application's innovative technology.
The purpose of public beta testing is to live test the user experience, usability and internal business processes. Upon completion of the initial beta phase, the App will be further optimised based on the feedback collated before progressing to the second beta phase in Q4 2015 to a significantly larger number of users.
The application is compliant with all regulations in the countries of operation including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements, which are integrated into the beta version of the application.
The blockchain technology behind the infrastructure of the application ensures that all transactions are securely and transparently recorded on the public ledger system.
At the end of the public beta testing the application will begin to implement and charge fees on each transaction paving the way for wide scale commercialisation.
Upon successful completion of the public beta, expected at the end of Q4 2015, a commercial pilot launch will commence in early 2016.
The Company is also developing the Android version of the application, which is due to be completed in December 2015. The launch of the Android version will expand the market opportunity for the application, which will become available to download on the two leading operating systems worldwide, iOS and Android, which together account for over 96% of the smartphone market.
