AirPocket First Stage Public Beta Successfully Completed Ahead of Schedule

  • First stage public beta testing successfully completed ahead of schedule

  • Remittances were successfully completed from the U.S. to Dominican Republic via the AirPocket app

  • Overwhelmingly positive response from beta users and minimal further optimisation required

  • Given the success of the first stage of testing, the company will be immediately launching the second stage of beta for a larger scale test with up to 1,000 users

  • Second stage beta testing to commence in November, with the user base growing up to 1,000 users and scaling to further Latin American markets in the coming months

Digital payments company Digital CC Limited (ASX:DCC and 'the Company') today announces it has successfully completed the first stage of its public beta testing of the AirPocket application.

The public beta phase was the first time that the AirPocket application was available in a public environment. The application was used by ~50 users to send remittances from the U.S. to the Dominican Republic.

Beta testers evaluated the application's usability, interface and AirCode concept. Users were required to adhere to the Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance requirement by signing up through the real time Identity Verification process. Users found this process to be quick, efficient and simple.

Users were surveyed and the response to the application from beta users has been overwhelmingly positive. Over 80% of users found the application to be user friendly and easy to use, with nearly 90% agreeing the product offered highly competitive fees.

Further optimisations were made to the SMS messaging system to improve AirCode delivery time and response. A number of smaller optimisations were also made to the location based AirAgent finder to improve the user experience and search ability of Agents.

Following optimisations the application is progressing to the second beta testing stage, which will see the application used by up to 1,000 users. Users will be across the U.S. and Dominican Republic, scaling to further Latin American countries over the coming months. Users will be acquired through a targeted local advertising campaign.

AirPocket will also be rolled out on the Android OS to determine the Android application's performance and usability. Public beta is expected to complete by the end Q1 2016 and a commercial pilot launch will commence in Q2 2016.

Zhenya Tsvetnenko, Executive Chairman, Digital CC Limited commented:

'We're delighted with the results of the first stage of public beta testing. The feedback from the beta users has been very encouraging and only a small number of optimisations were required ahead of the second stage beta testing. Ahead of the wider public launch in 2016 we will be testing AirPocket with up to 1,000 users in the next stage and we're excited to commence this stage and look forward to sharing the application with a wider audience.'
