Providing Online Scholarship Search Access and Chance to Win College Scholarships

RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 11, 2014-- Discover Student Loans announced that it will give away $40,000 in scholarships to help students pay for college tuition. The company also added to its website free access to easily search over 3 million scholarship and grant opportunities worth more than $18 billion.

"Our research indicates that the majority of families are worried about having enough money to contribute to their child's education," said Danny Ray, president of Discover Student Loans. "We are excited to introduce both the Discover Student Loans Scholarship and the Free Scholarship Search capability as ways for students and parents to close the financial gap and help turn their college dreams into a reality."

Discover Student Loans will give away scholarships to 40 students at $1,000 each for the 2014-2015 academic year. These scholarships can be used to help pay for the cost of college attendance, including tuition, housing and books, at accredited, non-profit, four-year colleges and universities in the United States.

Now through April 15, 2014, high school seniors planning to attend college in the fall of 2014, students currently enrolled in college or graduate school and parents or legal guardians of eligible students can find out how to enter here: discover.com/student-loans/scholarships/award.html

In mid-May, the International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS), an independent judging organization, will conduct a random drawing from all of the eligible entries received. Winners will be notified by e-mail and in their online ISTS accounts.
