Riverwoods, IL, March 3, 2015 - Following a standard review of business priorities, Discover is discontinuing affinity programs with 14 organizations and universities to better align resources with the company's strategic initiatives.

Affinity cards being discontinued include California State University - Fullerton, the Florida Nurses Association, the Humane Society of the United States, Loyola Marymount University, the University of Nebraska and Virginia Tech, among others.

While Discover cards will no longer be connected to these affinity programs, cardmembers may continue to use their cards and are not required to take any action. Their Discover cards will continue to provide Discover card benefits, including cash rewards and 100% U.S.-based customer service. They may continue to use their current cards until they expire, or until they need a replacement card.

Discover's affinity programs represent a very small, nonmaterial portion of the company's overall revenue.
