Home of Cycling Series to launch on June 1 with three individual month-long competitions for all cycling fans

Once-in-a-lifetime prizes include a training ride with Trek-Segafredo team and a VIP seat in a team car at the Vuelta a España

Eurosport partners with Strava to bring the challenges to fans across Europe*

Eurosport, the undisputed Home of Cycling in Europe, has today launched a new series of cycling competitions allowing fans to live and breath their passion for cycling.

Launching on June 1, 2017, the Home of Cycling Series consists of three individual month-long challenges for cyclists of all levels of experience. Participants will have the chance to win prizes that include a training ride with the Trek-Segafredo professional team and a VIP seat in a team car at the Vuelta a España.

Eurosport has teamed-up with Strava, the social network for athletes, to power the campaign and record participants' performances for each challenge. The Eurosport Club page will provide all the latest cycling news, video highlights and expert opinion exclusively from Eurosport.

The three challenges that will be open to the public are as follows:

  • June 2017 - 10 Rider Challenge in partnership with CA Technologies

Eurosport challenges keen cyclists to see if they have what it takes to be the 10th rider in a professional team. Cycle a minimum of 100km in a single ride during the month to be in with the chance to win a weekend at Trek-Segafredo's training camp - a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

  • July 2017 - Peaks Challenge

Eurosport tests riders climbing skills giving them four weeks to climb a total of 5,500m elevation. Three places in the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon in Austria, one of Tirol's premier and most challenging races, will be up for grabs.

August 2017 - International Ride Challenge

A challenge for all levels of cyclists where even novice riders have the opportunity to win a money-can't-buy prize. Eurosport will reveal which nation cycles the furthest on average during the month of August**. Simply ride at least 30km for your country and, if it wins, a VIP seat in an official team car during a Vuelta a España stage could be yours.

To enter the challenges, participants have to download the free Strava app or sign-up to the social network online and connect to www.strava.com/eurosport. Winners for each contest will be drawn from all riders who successfully completed the challenge.

Commenting on the new series, Eurosport CEO Peter Hutton, said: 'We've created the Home of Cycling Series for the millions of fans who watch our coverage allowing them to live and share their passion for cycling through the three challenges. This initiative is another example of our commitment to cycling and I'm delighted we are able to reward some of sports most passionate fans for their efforts.

'We've teamed-up with Strava, the social network for athletes, and secured some money-can't-buy experiences for the lucky winners. Entering the challenges is completely free and we hope that many thousands of people will be encouraged to take part during the summer.'

Tour de France stage winner and Eurosport's lead cycling analyst, Juan Antonio Flecha, said: 'The great thing about the Home of Cycling Series is that the three separate challenges allow cyclists of all abilities to get involved. The 10 Rider and Peaks challenges are definitely not for the faint-hearted but the International Ride challenge allows novices the opportunity to win a truly amazing prize. I've been lucky enough to compete with some great teams at the biggest cycling events and I know that any cycling fan who wins these prizes will be in for a truly unforgettable experience. I urge people to get involved and wish everyone the best of luck.'

This year Eurosport remains at the head of the peloton for all passionate cycling fans with over 200 days of live cycling and 2,300 hours of coverage across its channels. Eurosport's unrivalled cycling calendar once again covers all three of the Grand Tours, with exclusive and extended Giro d'Italia coverage, plus 25 UCI World Tour events, including all five Monuments.
