London, UK - January 19, 2017: In line with its strategy to engage more viewers across more screens than ever before, Discovery Communications today announced major distribution deals with TDC benefiting audiences in both Denmark and Norway, with a continued focus on the aggressive expansion of its digital business.

Discovery has continued to unlock value by seeking distribution for its content across all screens and devices, and the deal between Discovery and TDC-owned YouSee enables 1.3 million Danish households to gain access to Kanal 4, Kanal 5 & 6, Eurosport and other Discovery owned channels. The deal enables YouSee to provide their customers with new Discovery content, engaging a wider audience base with locally relevant, high profile programs such as Below the Surface, from the creators of The Killing and Borgen; Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge and World Cup Qualifiers. The agreement also enables YouSee to offer their customer groups access to Discovery content on their mobile devices.

Discovery also has reached an agreement with TDC-owned GET in Norway, with a new distribution deal, which includes TV Norge, Max, FEM, Eurosport and numerous other Discovery-owned global brand channels. For GET customers in Norway, the deal will make Eliteserien more widely accessible when it kicks off in April, with more matches broadcast across more screens. Discovery also has signed deals related to distribution of Eliteserien with Canal Digital, Altibox and RiksTV.

Mike Lang, President, International Development, Digital and Discovery Nordics said: 'We are pleased to announce that Discovery will continue to work with TDC in the years ahead. In particular in Denmark, we have agreed a ground-breaking deal that intensifies our cooperation with YouSee across platforms, which now includes mobile.

'In Norway, we have another strong deal to make our entertainment and sports brands available to more people and are especially excited that GET shares our vision for Eliteserien, giving Norwegian football back to the people, by making more matches accessible to larger audiences.'
