CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF DISCOVERY HOLDINGS AND ITS OPERATING
SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES
In compliance with the Listing Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are
advised of the appointment of Mr. Jan Jonathan (Jannie) Durand as a Non-
Executive Director of Discovery Holdings Ltd, Discovery Health (Pty) Ltd,
Discovery Life Ltd and Vitality Healthstyle (Pty) Ltd, with effect from 25
August 2011.
Mr. Durand is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Rhodes Scholar, with a
Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from the University of Stellenbosch, and an
MPhil in Management Studies from Oxford University. Mr. Durand currently serves
as Chief Investment Officer of Remgro Ltd, and prior to its delisting, was the
Financial Director and Chief Executive Officer of Venfin Ltd. Mr. Durand brings
extensive expertise and complementary capabilities to the Discovery Board.
