- 2.3 million people expected to shop online on Boxing Day
- 7pm to midnight peak shopping time on Christmas Eve
- 11.48am predicted to be core Boxing Day shopping time

Currys PC World is expecting a record number of customers to take advantage of its Boxing Day sales, with a record 2.3 million people surfing the website on Boxing Day alone.

With the sale actually kicking off online at 7pm on Christmas Eve, it is expected that 70% of customers to the Currys PC World websites will be surfing via their smartphones or tablets to snap up the great deals, from great brands, on offer. 2013 saw 1.7 million unique visitors perusing the site with more than a quarter seizing the opportunity to shop between 7pm and midnight on Christmas Eve - figures which are expected to be superseded this year. Christmas Day saw a pre-Downton Abbey rush at 8pm as many seized the opportunity to snap up tech deals.

On Boxing Day, Currys PC World expects to see the biggest volume of traffic hitting between 11am and Midday with a peak at around 11.48am. 280,000 visitors are predicted to surf the sites during this hour, whilst 60,000 orders are expected for the whole day - of which 35,000 will be for collection in-store.

With stores opening on Boxing Day from 8am, Currys PC World also expects over a million people to rush to the shops where they can enjoy expert help and save up to 40% (£400) on large kitchen appliances, including up to £400 off American-style fridge-freezers. Elsewhere, customers can enjoy 10% off marked prices on top kitchen brands including Miele, Brittania, Liebherr, Magimix, Dualit and Nespresso - until 31 December.

There are savings, too, of up to £200 on selected laptops, desktops and Macbooks. The 8GB Apple Macbook Air 13.3" will be on offer at £849 - down from £1049. The HP Pavilion 15.6" i5 processor laptop, meanwhile, with a massive 1.5TB hard drive and 8GB memory, and available in a range of fantastic, eye-catching colours, is down from £599 to £399. The iPad Mini 1 (16GB) will be priced at £169 (on Boxing Day and 27 December only) and there'll even be huge savings across entertainment systems - up to 30% off on Blu-ray players, home cinema kits, soundbars and portable DVD players.

What's more there'll be up to half-price off selected small kitchen appliances - anyone planning to take on a diet kick in the New Year will benefit with £30 off the Nutri Ninja BL450 High Speed Juicer, reduced from £99 to £69. There'll also be up to 50% off microwaves and floorcare - with up to £140 off Dyson upright and cylinder vacuum cleaners.

Elsewhere, customers can expect up to £60 off selected printers, as well as up to half price on selected PC accessories including the 1TB WD My Passport Ultra Exclusive Portable Hard Drive - £70 down to £49. TVs will continue to be popular and are expected to have their biggest day of sales for the year on Boxing Day, so anyone looking to enjoy those obligatory Christmas blockbusters can do so in style with the LG 55UB820V Smart 4K Ultra HD 55" LED TV, which takes your viewing experience above and beyond and boasts a massive £700 saving (down from £1499 to £799) - Currys PC World's lowest ever price on a 4K TV. There is also a 50" Panasonic LED TV at £349 - reduced by £150.
