Sci-fi Thriller Transcendence Coming to Japan via Blu-Ray™ Featuring Dolby Atmos Sound

Dolby Atmos-enabled AVRs and speakers will bring Dolby Atmos Blu-ray from PONY CANYON INC. to life in home theaters

Japan, Tokyo, October 3 2014 -- Dolby Laboratories (NYSE: DLB) subsidiary Dolby Japan K.K. (head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Yukihiro Osawa) today announced that PONY CANYON INC's. Blu-ray release of Transcendence will be available for home theater enthusiasts featuring a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack on December 2, 2014 in Japan.

"Soon, home theater enthusiasts in Japan will be able to experience Dolby Atmos movies the way they were meant to be heard, right in their living rooms."

Mr. Ryutaro Ueda, Executive Managing Director, Motion Pictures & Home Entertainment Dept. at PONY CANYON INC., said, "We are excited to be one of the first to bring home theater enthusiasts in Japan a domestic Blu-ray disc featuring a Dolby Atmos local language soundtrack. Transcendence will offer the excitement of Dolby Atmos at home for those who already experienced the movie in a cinema and will bring a new level of entertainment to those who have not seen the movie." The Transcendence Blu-ray disc featuring a Dolby Atmos soundtrack will be released in Japan before other countries.

Consumers will be able to experience Dolby Atmos home theater products at leading home theater retailers such as AVAC Corporation and BIC CAMERA INC.. More locations are expected as additional products are introduced into the market throughout the year.

Manufacturers who have announced Dolby Atmos AV receivers or pre-processors include Denon, Integra, Marantz, Onkyo, Pioneer, Steinway Lyngdorf, Trinnov Audio and Yamaha. Manufacturers developing Dolby Atmos enabled speakers and add-on modules include Atlantic Technology, Definitive Technology, KEF, Onkyo, Pioneer USA, Teufel and Triad Speakers. Onkyo also announced a Dolby Atmos equipped home theater in a box (HTIB) solution. Silicon providers Analog Devices, Inc., Cirrus Logic and Texas Instruments have developed chips in support of Dolby Atmos home theater AV receivers and processors. Additional manufacturers who have committed to delivering future Dolby Atmos products include Datasat, Emotiva Audio Corp, Outlaw Audio, Storm Audio and Now Hear This (NHT).
