DP WORLD TARGETS TALENTED EMIRATIS WITH HIGHLY SKILLED JOBS AT CAREERS UAE

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 19, 2014:- In line with its commitment to create job opportunities for UAE nationals, DP World announced today its participation in the leading recruitment, training and education exhibition, Careers UAE 2014.

Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the annual event is held from 22 to 24 April at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
As part of its efforts to attract talented Emirati interested in joining the company, the leading global marine terminal operator is taking the opportunity to introduce university graduates and students to departments across the business, locally and globally.
DP World has a portfolio of more than 65 marine terminals across six continents, including new developments underway, with the largest to open this year at its flagship Jebel Ali Port.
At a dedicated pavilion at the Career fair (Stand C1-5, Hall 1), the company will brief applicants on potential job opportunities, particularly in technology and familiarise them with operations.
Importantly, this year DP World is showcasing the remotely controlled quay cranes used for the first time in Jebel Ali's new Container Terminal 3 (T3), which is set to be the world's largest semi-automated facility when it opens for business this year.

Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region, said:

"We are proud to be a leader in employing UAE nationals and we look forward to welcoming the next generation of young Emiratis to our ranks. There are now new opportunities for skilled work at our flagship facility because of automation and technology, which is transforming the Jebel Ali workplace. Remote control technology means both male and female Emiratis can operate the most modern quay cranes at the pioneering Container Terminal 3 from the safety and comfort of the purpose built hi-tech operations building. This innovation is also in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, transforming Dubai with smart systems using technology."

Masoud Al Noori, Director, Human Resources, DP World, UAE Region, said:

"We are eager to offer young Emiratis opportunities to develop their skills and experience and involve them in contributing to the growth of DP World. Careers UAE is the best place to meet those talented university graduates and students. We are
strong supporters of the country's emiratisation drive, and we invite young Emiratis to visit our pavilion and discover the wide range of jobs available at DP World."
Earlier this year, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the construction of T3, and during the visit talked with some of the new national females recruited as crane operators at the new facility.
Because it takes jobs from the quayside to the safety and security of the operations building, the work at the new terminal has proven attractive to skilled Emiratis, including females, who make up a significant number of the new T3 team.
With total capacity set to rise to 19 million TEU (twenty foot equivalent container units) this year, Jebel Ali port is an engine of growth for Dubai and the UAE.
