NEW YORK, April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Bai Brands, the makers of Bai, Bai Bubbles, Bai Supertea and Antiwater, today announced the release of its short film series, "Unbelievers," produced in partnership with Tribeca® Studios. As the official water and flavored water of the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, Bai will premiere the first film in this series during the Festival's annual Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards (TDIA) on Tuesday, April 25. Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, takes place April 19-30, 2017 in New York City.

"Unbelievers" profiles individuals who embody Bai's mission to challenge the status quo and innovate with passion and purpose. The films are part of the brand's "Unbelieve" campaign, which highlights the origins of Bai and celebrates those who strive to better themselves and their communities by moving beyond the boundaries of the ordinary. The four films are produced by Tribeca Studios in association with Bai Brands with Henry Busby directing the stories on Jessamyn Stanley and Burnell Colton and Sasha Levinson directing the stories on Don McPherson of Enchroma and Steph Korey and Jen Rubio of Away. A trailer of the "Unbelievers" series can be found here: Unbelievers Trailer.

"Bai was built on the notion of 'Unbelieving,'" said Bai Founder Ben Weiss. "We unbelieved that coffeefruit couldn't be more than a byproduct, that a beverage couldn't taste good without sugar or artificial sweeteners and that a small startup couldn't disrupt a multi-billion-dollar industry. Through our partnership with Tribeca, we are proud to highlight other 'Unbelievers' who have embraced the possible over the impossible and impacted the lives of others by blazing their own trails."

"Working with Bai, as well as Henry and Sasha, Tribeca Studios was able to profile four individuals who each show what is possible if you defy conventional wisdom, and persevere in bringing to life your dream. We can't wait for people to hear their stories and be as inspired as we are by them," said Paula Weinstein, EVP of Tribeca.

The "Unbelievers" series will premiere with the story of Jessamyn Stanley, the self-proclaimed "Fat Yogi," on April 25 at the Bai-supported Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards, sponsored by AT&T. Bai will then release three additional stories in the following weeks. The film subjects include:

-- Jessamyn Stanley, Yoga Teacher and Author of "Every Body Yoga" -
Jessamyn Stanley is an internationally recognized yoga teacher,
award-winning Instagram personality (@mynameisjessamyn) and healthy body
image advocate. As a teenager and young woman, Jessamyn struggled to
accept her body. Through practicing yoga, she began to realize what her
body was capable of and the 29-year-old is now leading a body positivity
revolution. She spreads a message of self-love, self-care and positivity
that has left a strong impact on her community. Jessamyn has been
profiled by a wide range of media, including Good Morning America, TIME,
People and more. When she's not on the road teaching, she lives in
        Durham, North Carolina.

-- Burnell Colton, Entrepreneur - In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Burnell
Colton returned to the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, a neighborhood
listed as a "food desert" by the US government, to open shops and
restore the community one small business at a time. Teaching himself the
skills he needed to build his own business on a budget, the entrepreneur
succeeded in opening several businesses including a grocery store,
market, barbershop and laundromat. Colton's story of "Unbelieving"
proves that even in the most hopeless of situations, there are
        opportunities to build positive change.

-- Don McPherson, Glass Scientist - Great things start from small
beginnings, and some begin as fortuitous "accidents." In 2005, Don
McPherson, who has a Ph.D. in Glass Science, discovered that the glasses
he had designed for surgeons also did something extraordinary - they
allowed color blind people to see color. Defying all odds and the
industry's doubt that anything could be done, McPherson and collaborator
Andy Schmeder founded Enchroma, an eyewear company with a mission to
change the way the world sees color. By "Unbelieving" the impossible, he
has helped his community view the world with a new and improved pair of
        glasses.
-- Steph Korey and Jen Rubio, Founders of Away - Steph Korey and Jen Rubio
set out to reimagine the travel luggage industry by creating a suitcase
with the busy traveler in mind. Designing a line of suitcases that came
with a TSA-approved lock, unbreakable exterior, four wheels and a
built-in USB charging system, the ladies "Unbelieved" that the ultimate
travel companion needed to break the bank. The film tells an empowering
story of two young female entrepreneurs that have conquered stereotypes
        and embraced challenges head on.

As an official Festival partner, Bai will serve its portfolio of enhanced waters, as well as signature cocktails, at all official Festival events and at the Tribeca Festival Hub at Spring Studios.
