Dresser-Rand Energy Systems Will be on Display at POWER-GEN Europe HOUSTON-May 18, 2015-Dresser-Rand, a global supplier of environmentally friendly technology platforms in power generation for the oil and gas, industrial, institutional, and commercial industries, will introduce a variety of custom energy systems at POWER-GEN Europe 2015 that are designed to produce cleaner energy, help meet client productivity goals and improve clients' bottom-line.

Visitors of Dresser-Rand booth #1U12 will learn about advanced offerings designed for power generation and cogeneration, including its KG2-3G gas turbine with Ener-Core Gradual Oxidizer technology, SMARTCAES® compressed air energy storage solutions, Echogen® waste heat-to-energy system, Guascor® gas and diesel engines, and multi-stage steam turbines.

KG2-3G Gas Turbines with Ener-Core Gradual Oxidizer Technology Produces Clean Power

Dresser-Rand's highly efficient KG2-3G gas turbine is designed to meet demanding emissions regulations, and is ideally suited for continuous or emergency stand-by power supply. KG2-3G gas turbines for power generation have a 99.3 percent start reliability, full-load throw-on capacity and minimal maintenance requirements. It is also available with Ener-Core Inc. Gradual Oxidizer technology that can operate on a much lower quality gaseous fuel with fewer emissions when compared to those of a conventional turbine.
The KG2 generator set has been specifically designed to meet power requirements for power from 1 MW to 12 MW (single and multiple units). Nearly 1,000 units have been delivered for standby, industrial and oil and gas applications worldwide with more than 25 million operating hours. Case studies and presentations about the KG2-3G/GO solution will be held during the show.

Dresser Rand CAES Technologies Provide Flexible Solutions from a Single Source

Dresser-Rand's SMARTCAES® technology allows clients to store bulk electrical power on a utility scale and withdraw it on demand when the power is needed. It also provides a much needed load source when in compression mode that prevents curtailment of renewables and base load electrical generation. SMARTCAES technology also provides ancillary services/electrical products necessary to ensure the consistent deployment of renewable energy.
Custom-built to provide clients with systems designed specifically to meet each site's operating and geologic requirements, each CAES train manufactured by Dresser-Rand can be configured for salt caverns, hard-rock caverns, aquifers, or depleted natural gas fields on land or sea. CAES facilities enable clients to optimize their base load units by minimizing load swings to maximize efficiency and extend unit life. Storing energy allows for use of off-peak power to meet peak demand. Case studies and presentations about SMARTCAES technology and why it is adequately suited to increase renewable capacity and increase electrical grid stability will be held during the show.

Echogen Systems Extract Power from Waste Heat-type Exhaust Systems

Echogen technology is an innovative waste heat-to-energy solution using a CO2-based power cycle that generates emission- free electricity without burning fuel. The compact, packaged power system, with up to 50 MW capabilities, reduces overall cost of ownership with lower transportation and installation costs. The cycle can operate water-free, which is critical for many regions worldwide. Case studies and presentations about Echogen technology will be highlighted during the show.

Dresser-Rand Guascor Gas Engines Capitalize on Energy Potential

Guascor engines help Dresser-Rand clients optimize the energy potential of their facility by combining heating with on-site power production. By generating electricity on site and recovering heat that would typically be wasted in a conventional power plant, clients using Dresser-Rand Guascor engines experience increased energy efficiency and substantially reduced energy costs and carbon emissions.
Dresser-Rand combined heat and power (CHP) systems can be designed to accommodate a wide range of fuels, including natural gas, diesel, biogas, biodiesel, waste heat, hot water, waste steam, and biomass, and typically range from 100 kWe to
2.5 MWe. Larger capacities are available by incorporating multi-train systems.

Dresser-Rand Multi-stage Steam Turbines Offer Alternative Option for Renewable Power

Used for a variety of markets and applications, including oil and gas, biomass, waste-to-energy, sugar refining, universities, medical centers, etc., Dresser-Rand custom-designed steam turbine generators include a wide range of capabilities and configurations to meet clients' unique job-specific needs.
The steam turbine product line can provide economical and efficient generator drive solutions up to 100 MW with multi-stage
equipment. By customizing each unit, clients can achieve higher operating efficiency (of up to four percent), lower maintenance costs and increase turbine reliability.
Customized steam turbine units are available as either direct-drive or geared and can accommodate inlet steam conditions up to 2,000 psig and 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, with exhaust conditions from 800 pounds to condensing. Configurations can include condensing or non-condensing, single- or multi-valve, single- or double-automatic extraction, or induction mixed- pressure designs.
