Sand, wood and a beach bar allowed DSV to express its modern, Danish identity at the world's largest transport and logistics fair.

Beachfront cool made the DSV stand a place of calm in the middle of the trade fair - even when it was bustling with activity

No other event in the transport and logistics industry is such a great draw for visitors as the world's largest trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management, which takes place every two years in Munich. More than 2,160 exhibitors from 62 countries were present this year at transport logistic 2017.

Visitors from around the world

DSV Germany certainly didn't miss out on this must-attend event held over four days from 9 to 12 May. 60,000 visitors from 120 countries had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with products and services from DSV's divisions and to reinforce existing business relationships.

Visitors once again came in droves, not least to see the impressive (beach) stand with its Danish flair. Sand and wood, cosy lounge corners and a beach bar once again allowed DSV to express its modern, Danish identity.

Other promotions such as the DSV After Work trade fair club with cocktails, DJ and Danish 'frikadeller' (meatballs) were greatly enjoyed by the guests. The promotion 'Greetings from the trade fair beach' also proved popular with visitors as they were able to send free DSV postcards with a beach design to those they had left behind at home.

DSV team in top form

Many SME customers attended appointments on DSV's 255 m2 exhibition area alongside the 'big players' of the industry such as Siemens, BMW, Daimler, Bayer, BASF and Osram. The unique and unconventional beach look created a relaxed, personal atmosphere both for the DSV team and for new and old customers alike.

The team was delighted to welcome a total of just under 2,000 visitors to the stand over the four days. Four hundred and seventy eight meeting reports have already been written and evaluated to guarantee speedy follow up. Tons of potential shipments worth millions of Euros have been on the table.

Multi-divisional approach to customers

The highly motivated team, which took a multi-divisional approach from the outset, also relied on cross selling. During many discussions, team members referred prospects to a colleague from another division without hesitation. In addition to conversations with customers and prospects, Haulier Director Kim Brand was also able to speak to more than 60 Hauliers offering their services.

Visitors meet CEOs of DSV

Once again, visitors from DSV included Jens Bjørn Andersen, CEO DSV A/S, Carsten Trolle, CEO DSV Air & Sea Holding and Søren Schmidt, CEO DSV Road Holding A/S. They met with customers, partners and media representatives.

Sitting on the so-called 'Red Sofa' of the Deutsche Verkehrszeitung (DVZ - a specialist magazine for German transport), Jens Bjørn Andersen praised the work of DSV Germany employees and turned the focus to the financial success of the company - which was also thanks to the UTi integration.

Trade fair generates business and strengthens our image

Participation in transport logistic was once again an extremely successful move for DSV. It is an ideal platform to gain high-quality business contacts as well as to increase the loyalty of existing customers. It also boosts our image. The DSV stand brought visitors a little piece of Danish corporate culture, true to the motto: 'Global Transport and Logistics - Made in Denmark'.
