DETROIT, Nov. 7, 2017 - Heather Rivard, senior vice president of Distribution Operations at DTE Energy, Michigan's largest energy company, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies (AEIC) for 2018.

Rivard has been at DTE for nearly 25 years and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's electrical system, including new customer connections, system and reliability planning, electrical engineering, construction, tree trimming and emergency responsiveness. She has held a variety of leadership positions across Distribution Operations throughout her career. In addition, she has served in other areas of DTE such as strategic planning, customer service, procurement, warehousing, fleet and facilities operations. Rivard earned a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering and a master of business administration degree, both from University of Michigan.
