Bietigheim-Bissingen, October 6, 2014 - Dürr harnesses additional growth potential in application technology. The company now provides products for the application of paint and high-viscosity materials not only for the automotive industry but also for additional sectors. The target group of the "Industrial Products" area created for this purpose includes industries such as plastics, wagon construction, shipbuilding, ceramics, wood and furniture. In the medium term, Dürr aims to become one of the leading suppliers in the industrial area and generate sales of around € 100 million per year in this business. To this end, Dürr is focusing not only on acquisitions and new product development but also on technology transfer from the core automotive business.

Ralf W. Dieter, CEO of Dürr AG: "Thanks to our ongoing innovation and global presence, Dürr is the world market leader in application technology for the automotive industry. We will continue with this successful model and transfer it to other sectors." An important basis for this is the existing technology range, which has been adapted accordingly. In addition, Dürr has developed new products. The industrial product portfolio includes, for example, pumps, paint supply systems and electrostatic atomizers for paint application. There is also a wide range of products available for spray guns. Dürr strengthened its position in this area through the acquisition of specialist companies Bersch & Fratscher (Germany) and EST+ (Czech Republic) in June of this year. Further acquisitions are possible as part of the industrial growth strategy.

Dr. Hans Schumacher, Head of Dürr's Application Technology business unit: "In the industrial sector, too, Dürr covers the entire paint application spectrum. Our customers from the target sectors can now buy individual products as well as standardized application systems." All components are available with immediate effect. From the beginning of 2015 they will also be available to order quickly and easily from an online shop. In addition, the products will be sold via system integrators and distributors.
