"We didn't want just an ordinary office building," said Matthew Gutwein, President & CEO of Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County of the newly constructed Fifth Third Bank Building on the Eskenazi Health campus.

Recognizing that wellness includes relationships with nature and among people, Eskenazi Health wanted a space that brought the outdoors in and encouraged social connection. Working with Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County and Duke Realty, Eskenazi Health ensured that its new home is a very open space that draws in nature, all while drawing the operations of 27 separate spaces under one roof.

The building is on track to achieve LEED Silver certification, which would make it the first health system in the country to do so.

"Duke Realty . . . impressed us with how professional they were, how knowledgeable they were, and their level of integrity," Gutwein said. "We knew we could count on them, and that's exactly what happened."
