(Irvine, Calif. ‒ Oct. 15, 2014) Duke Realty Corporation (Duke Realty), a leading nationwide REIT that owns and operates 8.1 million square feet of industrial properties in the western United States, announces that it has opened a regional office in Irvine, California. The office, which is located at 8001 Irvine Center Drive, is led by Jason Sturman, Senior Vice President, Western Region, a long-tenured Duke Realty associate with experience in leasing, acquisitions, joint ventures and consulting.

Mr. Sturman will be responsible for the company's growing portfolio of industrial properties in the western United States, which includes 2.3 million square feet in Southern California, 2.6 million square feet in Northern California, 2.0 million square feet in Phoenix and 1.1 million square feet in Seattle. In addition to overseeing the leasing and management of Duke Realty's existing properties, he also will work to identify development and acquisition opportunities, new land positions and prospects for build-to-suit development.

"Our portfolio has grown exponentially in this region of the country in the past three years, and we anticipate that this area will be an ongoing growth market for us in the future," said Mr. Sturman. "An office location close to our growing portfolio will enable us to build stronger relationships with brokers, as well as existing and potential tenants. We are excited to be here and anxious to expand Duke Realty's presence in this part of the country."

Duke Realty's entry into the western United States began in 2005 when it entered the Phoenix market. In 2011, the company completed its first transaction in Southern California. Its success in these western markets led Duke Realty to expand into Northern California in 2012 and Seattle in 2013.

Most recently, the company announced the purchase of 95 acres of land in Perris, Calif. in the Inland Empire East submarket near the Ramona Expressway and I-215 for future development. The fully entitled parcel can accommodate up to 2 million square feet of warehouse/distribution space.

Other members of Duke Realty's Western Region team include Chris Burns, Vice President of Leasing, who has been representing the company on leasing and acquisition transactions in the Western Region since 2008, and Bob Close, a seven-year associate of Duke Realty, who will serve as Director of Design and Construction.
