Duke Realty : promotes Steve Wheeler to Vice President of Development, Healthcare

INDIANAPOLIS and DALLAS, June 1, 2016 - Duke Realty, an Indianapolis-based nationwide commercial real estate company, has promoted Steve Wheeler, former Development Executive with the company, to Vice President of Development, Healthcare. In his new role, Mr. Wheeler, who is based in Duke Realty's Dallas office, will be responsible for building relationships with the company's healthcare clients and identifying and obtaining new medical real estate transactions in the South and West.

'Steve has had more than 16 years of experience, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the entire real estate development and investment process, from budgeting and construction to marketing and leasing,' says Glenn Hoge, Duke Realty's Senior Vice President of Healthcare Development. 'He has been a tremendous asset to Duke Realty, and I am certain he will continue to excel in his new role.'

Mr. Wheeler joined Duke Realty in 2008 as a Development Executive. In that position, he was responsible for overseeing healthcare development projects from conception through completion. The Dallas Business Journal named one of his projects - Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center - 'Best Medical Project' in 2009. In addition, he received the 'Duke Realty Deal of the Year' designation in 2009, 2010 and 2012. In addition to his real estate projects with Dallas-based Baylor Health System, other notable projects have been with Austin, Texas-based Seton Family of Hospitals; Christus Santa Rosa, which is headquartered in San Antonio; and Christus St. Catherine of Katy, Texas.

Mr. Wheeler received a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
