E ON : regional companies in Germany submit grant applications for more than 700 charging points

As part of the German government's program to promote e-mobility, E.ON's regional companies have submitted applications for a total of more than 700 charging points. The majority of the applications were submitted by Avacon, Bayernwerk, E.DIS and Hansewerk on behalf of municipalities with which the companies are aiming to work in partnership for the development of charging infrastructure.

The national program to promote electric charging pillars for the expansion of e-mobility has been running since March 1, 2017. As part of this program, private investors, cities and municipalities can submit grant applications for new charging stations. The national government's aim is the development of a comprehensive charging infrastructure with 15,000 pillars spread throughout the country. The prerequisites for funding include the stipulation that the charging stations must be publicly accessible and operated using power from renewable sources.

Using various models, E.ON's regional companies are offering charging solutions for all public or commercial parking areas, including an innovative charging pillar with a screen. This includes two charging points as well as an integrated 46-inch monitor on which the operator can present its messages - such as information for tourists, citizens, employees or guests - in an eye-catching way. The screen can also be marketed, offering an option for refinancing the charging pillar.

All charging solutions can be combined with a customized service package which, on request, will cover all steps in the development or the modernization of charging infrastructure: from the advance consultation on products and subsidies to intelligent load management, operation and maintenance. Individual service offerings are also available on a modular basis.

With integrated products and solutions, E.ON is aiming to take a leading role in facilitating e-mobility across Europe. Together with the Danish company CLEVER, for example, E.ON has founded a platform to get charging infrastructure set up throughout Europe. Both companies recently entered into a partnership with the Norwegian service station chain XY, under which 20 locations will initially be equipped with ultra-fast charging stations. What's more, E.ON and CLEVER are also in talks with automobile manufacturers, licensors for motorway service stations and operators of service and filling station as well as other potential partners in Germany.
