Notice Regarding Addition of New Director Candidate
At the meeting of the board of directors of East Japan Railway Company (the "Company") held on May 19,
2015, Mr. Motoshige Itoh, Professor of the University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Economics, had been informally selected as a new Director candidate (outside Director). As the University of Tokyo has approved Mr. Itoh's nomination as a Director of the Company, we hereby announce the following additional Director candidate for election at the 28th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to be held on June 23, 2015, in addition to the Director and Corporate Auditor candidates announced in the "Notice Regarding Changes in Directors and Corporate Auditors, etc." released on May 19, 2015.
The relevant resolutions are expected to be adopted at the 28th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.

(Note) In the "Notice Regarding Changes in Directors and Corporate Auditors, etc." released on May 19, 2015, retirement of two Directors was announced. As a result of the addition of this new Director candidate, the number of Directors (currently 18) will be 17 at the conclusion of the 28th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.
