HANNOVER, GERMANY … Power management company has launched IntelliConnect™, a suite of connected solutions designed to improve a fleet's uptime and efficiency and reduce the total cost of ownership. The initial module in the suite, IntelliConnect Remote Diagnostics, provides near real-time monitoring of vehicle fault codes helping fleets increase vehicle uptime by reducing unplanned downtime through faster repair diagnosis. The announcement was made here today at the 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles Show.

Designed for Eaton automated and automatic transmissions, IntelliConnect Remote Diagnostics provides users with customized delivery of information through email alerts, the Navistar OnCommand Connection portal, an existing telematics portal, or through Eaton's web site www.EatonIntelliConnnect.com. Once the monitoring data is received, Eaton's vehicle system experts create comprehensive action plans that extend beyond just reading transmission fault codes. Using a holistic systems approach, Eaton looks at data from other vehicle components to determine potential root causes and solutions.

Eaton is partnering initially with Omnitracs LLC - a mobile fleet management software and technology provider - by integrating its data to support IntelliConnect. Plans are to offer IntelliConnect via other telematics providers in the future.

IntelliConnect will optimize the features of the Fault Monitoring application with immediate diagnosis and prioritization of transmission system fault alerts. By delivering vehicle information about the problem and expert guidance within seconds, fleet maintenance and operations management will be informed of root causes quickly to enable them to take proactive steps to fix a problem thereby reducing fleet maintenance and repair costs. The system will be supported by Eaton's Roadranger 24/7 call center.
