PITTSBURGH, PA
- Power management company Eaton designed and supplied the electrical solutions for the Home Builders Institute (HBI®) tiny house project. Through this project and its long-standing collaboration with the HBI, Eaton is highlighting its innovation in residential electrical products for any scale residence and support of training programs at the 2017 International Builders' Show® (IBS) from January 10 to 12 in Orlando, Florida. The tiny home was built by HBI students and will be on display at the HBI booth S-1680.

'HBI counts on the building industry's leading suppliers, like Eaton, to provide the solutions for regional projects and bolster our nationally recognized career training curriculum and programs through their ongoing participation and industry leadership,' said HBI President and Chief Executive Officer John Courson. 'The tiny house project on display at IBS highlights our students' skills and commitment to be part of the solutions energizing the building industry.'

Eaton provided a range of electrical solutions from the service entrance to the wall plate for the HBI tiny home project on display at the IBS. To accommodate space constraints, Eaton designed a compact load center customized to meet the power requirements of a home that has a fraction of a typical home's footprint. Additional solutions incorporated in the tiny home include arc fault / ground fault circuit breakers, receptacles and other wiring devices and circuit protection solutions.

'The building industry needs quality electrical products for homes of all sizes and in any price range, as well as support for robust training programs that will provide access to skilled labor to design, build, install and service the electrical needs,' said Rachael Elliott, director of marketing, Eaton's Residential and Wiring Devices Division. 'Eaton provides builders with reliable solutions that connect, protect and efficiently manage electrical loads for homes. Further, we actively support key industry organizations and educational programs to train the next generation of electricians.'

As a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB®) Leading Supplier Council, Eaton supports the HBI training programs taught in local communities across the country to at-risk youth, veterans, displaced workers and other underserved populations.
