ST. PAUL, Minn. - Dec. 17, 2015 - Continuing its legacy of support for education, Ecolab Inc. awarded $1.1 million in grants to K-12 educators throughout the country through the Ecolab Foundation's 2015 Visions for Learning Educator Grants program. The program provides K-12 teachers with funds to purchase additional equipment and materials to enhance the classroom experience. In 2015, nearly 650 grants were provided through the Visions for Learning program, benefitting 315 schools and more than 157,000 students nationwide.

'Ecolab's Visions for Learning Educator Grants program funds initiatives that provide teachers with the necessary tools to augment basic skills instruction and encourage and engage students,' said Kris Taylor, vice president of Community Relations at Ecolab. 'Through these initiatives, we believe students are receiving a richer educational experience that will better prepare them for successful futures.'

The 2015 Visions for Learning program included the distribution of $244,000 in grants to educators in St. Paul, Minn., the home of Ecolab's world headquarters.

Projects funded through this year's grants include supplemental hands-on materials for Hmong and Dakota language and culture classes, supplies for a camera obscura engineering unit, resources to introduce data collection technology and analysis into chemistry classes, and art materials to build a 'Welcome' mosaic at a school's entrance celebrating diversity in its student population.

The Ecolab Foundation contributes to the quality of life in the communities where the company operates, supporting organizations and programs focused on youth and education, civic and community development, arts and culture, and the environment and conservation.
