Nalco Champion, an Ecolab company, plans to construct a new headquarters building in Sugar Land, Texas, to house its Houston-area energy services operations.

The 133,000-square-foot building, scheduled for completion in late 2015, will provide modern workspaces and training facilities to accommodate approximately 1,000 Nalco Champion employees. It will be located adjacent to the company's current Sugar Land operations at 7705 Highway 90-A. Employees currently working at the Nalco Champion sites in Houston and Fresno, Texas, will relocate to the new headquarters building.

The project also will include renovation of Nalco Champion's existing 45,000-square-foot Sugar Land office building to expand research, development and engineering (RD&E) lab facilities. The company's RD&E team in Fresno will join the Sugar Land RD&E team in the new lab space.

"This project will help us bring together our people as one team, creating a critical mass of industry knowledge and a research and development powerhouse to better serve our customers," said Steve Taylor, Ecolab executive vice president and president, Nalco Champion. "The new headquarters building and related renovation also reaffirms our continued commitment to the City of Sugar Land, where our company has long held a corporate presence."
