Ecolab Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources, was recognized by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, as one of the most community-minded companies in the U.S. The 2017 Civic 50 list, announced June 20, recognizes companies that use their time, skills and other resources to improve the quality of life in the communities where they operate.

“We believe that focusing simultaneously on social, environmental and economic performance is good for society and good for business,” said Kris Taylor, Ecolab vice president of Community Relations. “Through employee involvement and financial contributions to programs and organizations, we are helping to enrich and strengthen our communities.”

The Civic 50 honorees include public and private companies with revenues of $1 billion or more and are selected based on four dimensions of their U.S. community engagement program: investment, integration, institutionalization and impact.

“The Civic 50 highlights the commitment to community and civic engagement of America’s leading brands,” said Jennifer Lawson, president of networks at Points of Light. “The Civic 50 companies are putting themselves at the center of change to create more enduring and sustainable business models.”

The Civic 50 is the only survey and ranking system that exclusively measures corporate involvement in communities. To learn more about The Civic 50 and view the 2017 honorees, visit www.Civic50.org.
