Ecopetrol S.A. (BVC: ECOPETROL; NYSE: EC) ("Ecopetrol") herby reports that, at the meeting held on December 16, 2016, the Board of Directors of Ecopetrol acknowledged the resignation of Dr. Juan José Echavarría Soto from his position as an independent member of the Board of Directors of Ecopetrol, which was presented on December 14, 2016.
