(Oslo, 25 June 2013) EVRY has entered into an agreement with the Church of Norway to provide operating services for the Church's membership register. The agreement runs for three years, with an option for a further year. The agreement with the Church of Norway represents expected contract value of NOK 7 million over the life of the contract.

EVRY entered into a management services agreement in relation to the Church's membership register in 2011. This collaboration is now being expanded with EVRY also providing scalable operating services. The agreement with the Church of Norway is entered into with the Church of Norway National Council.

"The membership register plays a very important role in allowing the Church of Norway to carry out its work in a proactive and efficient manner. A state-of-the-art and stable IT system will play a central role, and will help us to carry out our plans. The agreements with EVRY provide for the company to deliver support for the continuing development and operation of the membership register", comments director Jens-Petter Johnsen of the Church of Norway National Council.

"We are delighted that the Church of Norway is expanding its collaboration with EVRY. Through this new operating services agreement, the Church will benefit from efficient and scalable operating services using state-of-the-art technology that will facilitate continued development. We look forward to starting the delivery of operating services, and to our continuing strong and long-standing collaboration with the Church", comments Knut Aasrud, Head of EVRY Norway.

The Church of Norway currently operates a web-based solution for its membership register that is used by all its central and local units. The solution's users are spread across more than 1,500 units, including central bodies, diocesan councils, deaneries, joint parish councils and parishes, located throughout Norway. The system holds information on the Church's four million members and other supporters, council members, employees, users, organisational units, church services and tax-free giving. Elections for parish councils and diocesan councils are held every second year, and the membership register system provides the basis for the conduct of these elections. The membership register makes use of information from major public registers such as the national population register, the central co-ordinating register for legal entities, the employer/employee register and the buildings register. The current system was developed and put into production in 2009. The system has since been updated, and the Church plans further improvements in a number of areas over the coming years.

About the contract

The operations solution that EVRY will deliver features redundancy with operations shared between two data halls, ensuring stable and reliable services for the Church. Operating services will be delivered through a combination of physical and virtual servers. The entire virtual environment that EVRY will deliver is fully scalable to meet demand, with no individual components that set a limit to scalability. The Church of Norway is purchasing this as a service. This means, for example, that the Church will only pay for the volume of storage and backup that it needs at any time.
