WHAT: Southern California Edison and the El Monte Union High School District will hold a '1,000 Station Celebration' to mark the installation of the 1,000thelectric vehicle charging station under SCE's Charge Ready pilot program.

NOTE: SCE will be making a major announcement regarding a new program for electric vehicle owners at the event.

WHEN: 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, May 30.

BACKGROUND: Charge Ready is SCE's pilot program to get more electric vehicle charging stations installed in locations where people park their cars for extended periods of time - for example, at workplaces, campuses, recreational areas and apartment and condominium complexes.

PARKING: Free parking is available in South El Monte High School's lot.
