ABANA and EFG Hermes will host H.E. Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation for the Republic of Egypt, for an Institutional Investor Roundtable on Monday, April 24, 2017 in New York City.

H.E. Dr. Nasr's visit is part of her Ministry's global investment promotion campaign to highlight Egypt's value proposition to global public market and strategic investors as the country continues to roll-out an ambitious economic reform program.

During the ABANA roundtable, the Minister will make Egypt's investment case to a group of investment professionals from top-tier firms and institutions based in the United States.

H.E. Dr. Nasr will focus in part on how global funding for public spending on infrastructure and public services aligns with Egypt's investment map to achieve social and economic development goals. The Minister will outline key sectors in which Egypt enjoys a competitive global advantage; the mechanics and medium-term goals of the Government of Egypt's ongoing economic reform program; why the domestic and international private sector is key to Egypt's growth strategy; and a vision for new investment incentives and economic development zones under the forthcoming Investment Act.

The Minister will also highlight the success of the reform program to-date, including newfound global export competitiveness following the November 2016 float of the Egyptian pound; improvement in the country's ranking in the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business report; and investment in critical infrastructure including energy, railways and roads.

'We at ABANA are delighted to host H.E. Dr. Nasr in New York in partnership with EFG Hermes and introduce her to leading figures in the US investment community', noted ABANA Chairperson Mona Aboelnaga Kanaan. 'This Institutional Investor Round Table Discussion is an example of ABANA's widely recognized ability to provide a forum for discussions that enhance understanding and capital flows between the US and MENA'.

Karim Baghdady, CEO of EFG Hermes USA, the firm's New York office, added, 'We are honored to welcome Her Excellency to New York in partnership with ABANA. We are committed to continue promoting investment in Egypt to our global network of investors. This important meeting follows on the heels of our January 2017 Egypt Day in Cairo, during which global and regional institutional investors with more than USD 3.5 trillion in assets under management held three days of meetings with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the governor of the central bank and members of the Egyptian Council of Ministers' economic group as well as leading figures in Egypt's private sector.'
