NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / June 15, 2017 / E3 2017 just recently kicked off in Los Angeles with over 60,000 attendees. Video game giants like Electronic Arts and Activision Blizzard were some of the few to unveil and show off new games that will be coming out. Activision revealed the highly anticipated games Destiny 2 and Call of Duty: WWII, while EA detailed games like Star Wars: Battlefront II and Need for Speed Payback.

Electronic Arts Inc.'s shares had a fairly flat trading day on Wednesday but were one of the most exciting publishers to kick off E3 2017 with a press conference on Saturday, before it even started. FIFA 2018 was one of the highlights that gamers were waiting to hear about and offers players a chance to be a young sports star who is wanted around the world by every club. The company also highlighted its unique A Way Out game, which is an action-adventure about two prisoners trying to escape jail. The gaming company has been doing a lot of narrative story modes in its sports game and Madden NFL 18 will see something similar. Shares soared almost 20% last month after the company reported a strong fiscal fourth quarter at the beginning of May. The company saw a 17% increase in its revenue at $1.53 billion and a 34% increase in operating income at $717 million. EA closed at $110.02, up 0.04% yesterday.

Activision Blizzard, Inc.'s shares closed up 0.95% yesterday. Activision was one of the big show casers at the E3 convention in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Jefferies analyst Timothy O'Shea wrote a note to clients and said that after the convention, he was "more confident about prospects for Activision and EA during the fourth quarter." One of the most attention catching games of the convention is the company's 'Call of Duty: WWII' game. According to Baird analyst Colin Sebastian who wrote in a report on Wednesday, "In conversations with gamers (and) developers around the expo, the buzz around the 'Call of Duty: WWII' gameplay was overwhelmingly positive." 'Destiny 2' is another game from Activision that is expected to be a very important holiday release along with the new Call of Duty.
