As foreshadowed in its recent entitlements issue prospectus, Elixir Petroleum Limited ("Elixir" or the "Company") (ASX:EXR) has reviewed its Board composition and structure and is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Sam Willis as a non-executive director to the Board of Elixir.
Mr Willis is a Director of Elixir's largest shareholder, New Standard Energy Ltd (ASX:NSE) ("NSE"), and until recently was the Managing Director of NSE. While leading NSE, Sam steered the company through a successful period of growth to become a substantial oil and gas exploration company with world class onshore acreage and top tier partners.
Prior to his role at NSE, Mr Willis worked as a corporate and financial advisor for the preceding ten years, largely focusing on ASX listed micro-cap and small cap companies in the resources sector. His principal activities during this period included completing opportunity evaluation, investment analysis, capital raising and co-ordination, broker liaison and deal negotiation and structuring.
In addition, Mr John Robertson, a non-executive director of the Company and its founding Chairman, has confirmed that he will not be making himself eligible for re-election to the Board at the next annual general meeting of the Company to be held later this year. The Board expresses its gratitude to John for the commitment, guidance and expertise he has displayed during his long service with Elixir.
