Ellie Mae® (NYSE:ELLI), a leading provider of innovative on-demand software solutions and services for the residential mortgage industry, announced Harry A. Gardner, the company’s vice president of eStrategies, has received the 2014 Chairman’s Award by the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO), a voluntary organization created to establish data standards for creating and selling mortgages.

Gardner, a former vice president of industry technology for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), held various leadership roles at MISMO since 2001, including president and chair of its Residential Governance Committee. He is currently responsible for leading Ellie Mae’s strategy and execution around its eMortgage and eClosing capabilities.

A not-for-profit subsidiary of the Mortgage Bankers Association, MISMO coordinates the development and maintenance of real estate finance data standards and electronic mortgage guidance through a voluntary, open and vendor-neutral process. Recipients of the Chairman’s Award are selected by the chairs of the MISMO committees.

“Over the past 15 years, MISMO’s work has led to widespread acceptance of data standards in the industry, which have greatly improved the efficiency and transparency of mortgages,” Gardner said. “I’ve always believed in that mission, so to be recognized with the MISMO Chairman’s Award is a great honor.”

In presenting Gardner with the award, Kyle Bensen, business partner manager at MGIC and chair of the MISMO Education Committee, stated: “This award recognizes the many years of dedication and substantial contributions that Harry has made to MISMO, which have significantly advanced MISMO standards and the MISMO organization within the mortgage finance industry.”
