du has joined forces with Emirates Driving Institute to launch a road safety campaign for its employees on November 17, to support the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) mission of reducing road traffic accidents through education. Continuous Awareness Campaigns have contributed to the drop in road deaths between 2014 and 2015, according to the Ministry of the Interior, and du's hard hitting demonstration focused on common factors that cause road accidents, including speeding, reckless driving, the use of mobile phones, and the failure to wear a seatbelt.

'As a business committed to its people, we continue to ensure the health and safety of our staff through a variety of educational initiatives,' said Ibrahim Nassir, Chief Human Capital & Administration Officer, du. 'We launched this Road Safety campaign with the wellbeing of our staff in mind - as safer driving practices will ensure a safer working environment more conducive to productivity.'

During the day, du staff were part of a number of real-life simulations using a demonstration vehicle that enabled them to experience the impact of several road accident situations and the preventative measures they can take.
