du, the employer of choice in the UAE, announced receiving 7 new interns during the second quarter of 2015 from various UAE universities and colleges, 5 in support and 2 in commercial departments. Furthermore, 7 interns have already completed their internships during the first quarter of 2015. In 2014 du enrolled 28 interns, out of which 5 were recruited as Graduate Trainees in various departments across the company.

Internship candidates are subject to personal interviews with the National Development department based on the universities and colleges' nominations, thereafter an internship training plan is set up and start dates are agreed upon. The candidates will be developed through their internship with 1-on-1 follow up sessions. At the end of their internship candidates are invited to display final presentations on their journeys, achievements and any recommendations that they may have.

du also revealed that it is looking to recruit 16 Emirati employees during its participation at Careers UAE, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre on April 28-30. This announcement runs in line with its directive of achieving 37% Emiratisation in 2015, and its commitment to inspiring young Emiratis into the ICT sector through a number of training and development opportunities that it offers.

"As an Emirati company, we are committed to contributing to a knowledge-based economy by empowering UAE Nationals to work in their chosen careers. We invite potential recruits to visit our stand and see how rewarding a career with du can be," said Ibrahim Nassir, Chief Human Capital and Administration Officer, du. "Potential employees are invited to come and meet us at our stand, they can drop their CVs off and learn about the career path they would have at du, training, development and benefits that are part of the job. Careers UAE enables our Emiratisation efforts as it allows us to interact directly with potential recruits and inspire them into a fulfilling career at du."

Currently, 35.3% of du's total workforce is comprised of Emiratis, while more than 36% of the company's senior executives, in the position of Vice President and above, are UAE Nationals. According to du's regular Gallup-supported survey, employee engagement within the telecom is also high, with a score of 4.29 placing the company in the 65th percentile of the Gallup Global database.

du invites prospective employees to visit its stand at Careers UAE, Dubai World Trade Centre, from 10am onwards in Hall 7 Stand A7-5.
