Patient.co.uk has won two awards in the widely celebrated EHI Awards 2014, which rewards excellence in healthcare IT in the UK.

The UK's most popular health and wellbeing site won the 'Best use of social media to deliver a healthcare campaign' award for promotion of the site's free clinically-aligned health assessment called MyHealth. It was also awarded the 'Excellence in mobile healthcare' trophy for the Patient Access app, which provides citizens secure and easy online access to GP services, such as the ability to book appointments and view their own summary care medical record.

"Being recognised for our social media campaign within such a digitally-engaged audience as the health and medical sector is a huge honour," says Stella Bolam, Social Media and Content Manager at Patient.co.uk. "We hope by sharing our insight and experiences we've had with other health organisations, we can help to foster a digital community which supports healthcare professionals in their work and enables very real, positive impacts on the health and wellbeing of the UK population."

Ben Foster, Operations Director at Patient.co.uk said: "These two awards are for very different projects. One engages citizens to be more proactive in their wellbeing and lifestyle choices, and the other supports them when they need to access their local GP's services. We're delighted to have received these awards and they are an accolade to our vision of empowering patients to take a more active role in their health."

Stella Bolam and Tim East, Patient Access product manager, will both be speaking about social media in health and the Patient Access app respectively, at EHI Live in Birmingham, on 5th November 2014.
