EMPIRE ANNOUNCES SCHEDULED SERVICE INTERRUPTION IN STRAFFORD, MISSOURI

JOPLIN, MO - July 15, 2016 - The Empire District Electric Company has scheduled a brief service interruption in the Strafford, Missouri area on Tuesday morning, July 19, 2016, beginning at 1 a.m. and lasting approximately two hours. Customers should be aware these times are approximations and the outage could be postponed or extended due to weather or equipment issues.

Approximately 1,200 customers in and around Strafford will be affected by the service interruption. This scheduled outage is necessary to allow crews to safely upgrade substation equipment as part of an ongoing initiative to strengthen the delivery system and enhance reliability for customers.
