This morning Endesa Chile informed that its Bocamina I power plant, 128 MW of installed capacity, is operational once again, available towards power generating in the measure it is required. The unit began testing the process last April with the purpose of restarting its operations. Bocamina I has been shut down within the framework of a major scheduled maintenance with the purpose, on the one hand, of obtaining the best environmental standards, installing for said purpose new emissions reduction systems (desulfurizer, baghouse and low emissions burners) and, on the other, a series of technical improvements regarding the operation. Within this same process, the cleaning of asbestos was carried out successfully.

Additionally, Endesa Chile adopted, during the start-up process, new operational procedures, guaranteeing particulate material emissions minimization at all the operational stages of the unit, making this fact a milestone in the environmental standards of the power generation plants.

All of the environmental improvements implemented are fully operational. With this milestone, Endesa Chile takes one more step in its commitment towards implementing the best environmental practices and restarting operations at the complex located in the county of Coronel, making both units (I and II) of the thermoelectric complex available to the system for its dispatch. The human team of the Bocamina complex has worked hard in order to achieve this important objective, displaying all of their capacities to make this power plant one of the best of its type in Chile.
